Jazz Couture provides elegant, live background music for special events. 2. Founder of Maggie's Voice a charitable organization dedicated to helping end child abuse through the arts. 3. Member of PWCC (Professional Women's Club of Chicago 4. Special Events Committee Member for PWCC 5. Professor at Elmhurst College - Director of "Blue" a 14 member Vocal Jazz Ensemble 6. Auxiliary Board Member of the CCAC (Chicago Children's Advocacy Center 7. I attend a variety of networking events every week Number of Years? 1. Professional Vocalist and Educator - 25 years 2. Maggie's Voice - 4 years 3. PWCC - 2 years 4. CCAC - 4 years 5. Networking for 25 + years What is your source of motivation? Children are my source of motivation - their innocence, beauty, joy, curiosity, imagination, and hunger to always be learning something new. They keep you young. How has networking contributed toward your business or organization? Networking is key in the entertainment/hospitality industry. Networking has helped me establish/define my business and prepare my 1minute elevator pitch. If you are out there networking and talking about your business, you are creating a buzz about your business. People will remember your name and the more they hear it and see you the better because out of site out of mind. Networking stretches me outside of my comfort zones. It is helping me open up as a person and get comfortable with talking to every stranger in the room about what they do and how my services will compliment. It is building my confidence as a business woman which is essential to the survival of my business. I have grown such wonderful relationships both business and personal out of networking. It is the way to grow your business. Networking is about getting out and forming relationships with people not just sitting at a desk and cold calling. In my opinion, networking helps me grow my business more quickly because I am out there exchanging energy with people and before you know it we are helping each other. It is a beautiful thing. |
