Two Emerging Chicago Fashion
Designers Host Modern Trunk Show
July 15 Cocktail Reception, Trunk Show

Chicago, IL (July 1, 2009)- "Young
Modern" fashion designers Michelle
Barone and Marisa Swystun will
present two separate collections
during a cocktail reception and private
sale on Wednesday, July 15th.

Two months after the opening event
"Young Modern" for the Art Institute of
Chicago's new Modern Wing, Barone
and Swystun are holding "A Designer
Capsule," a trunk show to showcase
their collections designed exclusively
for the opening event.  The trunk show
will be held at Michael Mertz' studio
loft, located on 535 N. Marshfield Ave.
in Chicago, and street parking is
available.  The event is scheduled
from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and invitations
are available upon request.  Both
collections will be available for special
order.

"Chicago's fashion industry is so
small," said Swystun.  "We wanted to
bring together as many community
members as possible to celebrate the
budding industry and invite them to
see two new designers working in the
city."  The trunk show will also give the
designers a chance to personally meet
some of the people who became fans
after the "Young Modern" show,
according to Barone.

Swystun's "Young Modern" collection is
geared toward women ages 25 to 65,
and has a luxe-bohemian feel with
embroidered and hand-painted
dresses, kimonos and jumpsuits.
Barone's collection offers wearable
avant-garde luxury pieces, which are
aimed at all age groups who are willing
to try something different with their
fashion choices.
