The 18th Annual Chicago’s Taste of
Romania
September 13-14, 2008

Chicago, IL (July 26, 2008) – The time is
near once again when Chicago will join in
the annual grape harvest celebration.
The 18th annual, Chicago’s Taste of
Romania kick starts on September 13-14,
2008 on California at the Addison
intersection.

The highlight of the event will once again
be the traditional grape stomp. Daring
festival goers and dignitaries alike, throw
off their shoes and make the traditional
Romanian grape juice, or “must”, the old
fashion way, celebrating the Romanian
grape harvest. Visitors will also enjoy and
participate in traditional Romanian arts
and crafts, folk music and live
entertainment from Romania, this year
including the biggest artist in Romania:
Loredana Groza and her band. Folk
dancing directly from Romania: Junii
Sibiului will be performing, as well as local
groups from Greece, Serbia, Poland, and
Romania. Kids of all ages will love the
games, tradition folk music, as well as the
dancing and pop Romanian talent.

Chicago’s Taste of Romania is known for
its outrageous selection of hearty food,
including spit-roasted pig, lamb, ox, and
gallons for freshly squeezed grape juice.
Traditional Romanian favorites are also
being served, such as skinless
homemade sausage and stuffed cabbage.

This year we are proud to have ProTV
International on as our Media Partner.
ProTv International is the premier
Romanian language TV channel
specifically targeting the growing number
of Romanians choosing to work, study or
live abroad.

The tent covered event will be held rain
or shine. The location is in the heart of
the city, and in addition to the parking lot,
there is plenty of street parking. Chicago’
s Taste of Romania was founded in 1991
with the intent to bring the flavor and
culture of Romania to Chicago. The
event has since drawn many local and
national celebrities, as well as many
politicians’ support. One never knows
whom one might run into at the Taste of
Romania.
